The testers looked at nine models of non-OEM consumable products compatible with some of the most popular printing equipment currently available on the market: four compatible with Brother printers and five designed to work with HP devices. ActiveJet products were distinguished in two tests. The HP-compatible AH-301BRX product was recognised as the "PC World Editor's Pick". The authors of the test report valued ActiveJet cartridges for their consistent performance and for the clear and legible labelling of their packaging:
"ActiveJet AH-301BRX is a great extra-volume black inkjet cartridge for HP DeskJet 1000/1050/2000/2050/3000/3050 printer models. It lasts long, and is fully leak-proof. Its installation in the printer is trouble-free. The manufacturer should also be congratulated on the thoughtfully designed packaging and for enclosing a user guide, which other vendors tend to forget.
ActiveJet's AB-985BN consumables for the Brother printer were highlighted as "PC World Best Buy". This particular product scored best, i.e. as many as 10 points for its efficiency, as well as 9.2 points for the cost per page. This brought it the best total score, leaving its competitors far behind. The editors presented the advantages of that product as follows:
"Due to the large volume of its cartridge, ActiveJet AB-985BN offers fantastic efficiency ( ) Notably, the cartridge is vacuum sealed in a thick plastic bag, which is inserted in a stylish box. The product works completely problem-free with the Brother DCP-J313W printer we used in this test. The installation boils down to removing the protective plastic strip and placing the cartridge in the appropriate holder. The cartridge impresses with its efficiency, yielding as many as 800-900 normal quality pages at 5 per cent coverage."
